No-starts, engine faults, electrical failures and vehicles that cannot be driven safely can be recovered to home, garage or another suitable destination.
Send the key details now. WhatsApp opens with the job information ready to send, so you do not need to leave this service page first.
Breakdowns do not always happen in easy loading locations. We regularly assess vehicles that will not start, have engine or cooling faults, clutch or gearbox problems, steering issues, damaged suspension, electrical faults or wheels that no longer move freely. Tell us exactly what happened and whether the vehicle can roll, steer and brake before we attend.
Across Glasgow, access can range from city-centre streets and underground or multi-storey car parks to residential roads, industrial estates and motorway approaches. An exact GPS pin, registration, destination and a few clear photos help us choose the safest loading position and avoid delays.
Two breakdowns in the same street can need completely different equipment. A car that rolls freely is different from an automatic stuck in Park; a van with no steering is different from a simple non-start. When you call or use the quote form, tell us what the vehicle is doing, whether it rolls and steers, where it is positioned and where it needs to go.

If there is no power to the cluster, the vehicle will not select neutral or an electronic brake stays applied, tell us before dispatch so loading can be planned.
For Transit, Sprinter, Crafter and other vans, provide wheelbase/body type and load details where relevant. Larger vans need correct space and weight assessment.
A useful breakdown recovery plan starts with more than the fault description. The position of the vehicle, whether it can roll and steer, whether the gearbox can select neutral, the available loading space and the intended destination all affect the safest way to collect it. Glasgow combines dense residential streets, city-centre restrictions, industrial estates and fast motorway approaches, so precise information before dispatch matters.
If the ignition is dead, the vehicle will not crank or the dashboard has no power, tell us whether the steering is locked and whether the transmission can be put into neutral. A vehicle that cannot be rolled may need a different positioning method from a normal non-runner. A short video or photo can also show whether access is clear around the front and rear of the vehicle.
A failed clutch, automatic gearbox fault or drivetrain problem can leave the vehicle running but unable to move safely. Do not keep attempting to drive if movement could cause more damage. Tell us what happens when drive or a gear is selected, and whether any wheels appear locked, because that changes how the vehicle should be loaded.
Height barriers, ramps, one-way access, parked cars, narrow closes and sharp turns can be more important than the mechanical fault. Send the height restriction and photos of the entrance and vehicle position. If a full-size recovery truck cannot reach the vehicle directly, that needs to be identified before attendance rather than after arrival.
For M8, M74, M77, M80, M73 and other high-speed roads, personal safety comes first. Once you are in a safe position, share the road, direction of travel, nearest junction or slip road and an exact map pin. A broad description such as “on the M8 near Glasgow” is not accurate enough for efficient dispatch.
Collection from a private driveway, yard or industrial estate can often be simpler than a roadside job, but gates, security, opening hours and parked vehicles can still affect access. If the vehicle is inside a controlled site, make sure the recovery truck will be admitted and that the destination is ready to receive the vehicle.
You can request transport to a garage, dealership, home address, storage point or another agreed UK destination. Providing the delivery postcode at quote stage avoids pricing a local recovery when the actual job is a longer transport movement.
Road names help us understand the likely access, direction of travel and onward route, but the exact pickup pin or postcode is still required for a live quote. These corridors connect Glasgow with the wider Scotland coverage network.

Coverage note: Lifesaver Vehicle Recovery is based in Glasgow. Wider area and road pages describe genuine service coverage, not additional physical depots or offices. Attendance is subject to live truck availability, vehicle suitability, traffic, road conditions and safe access.
Send the registration, exact pickup pin or postcode, vehicle condition, destination, and whether the vehicle starts, rolls, steers and selects neutral. Photos help when access or wheel damage is unusual.
Vehicles that cannot select neutral can be assessed, but tell us before dispatch because locked wheels or drivetrain issues can require a different loading method and more working space.
Possibly, but access must be assessed first. Send the height limit, entrance/ramp photos and exact vehicle position so we can determine whether the recovery vehicle can reach it safely.
No. You can choose the destination, subject to safe access and the destination being able to receive the vehicle.
Yes. Lifesaver is based in Glasgow and also quotes wider Scotland coverage and nationwide transport subject to live availability. The 23-zone hub shows the main coverage areas.
No. Recovery is the safe transport of a vehicle that cannot or should not continue under its own power. Some faults may be repairable elsewhere, but the recovery service is focused on moving the vehicle safely.
