Winch-out recovery for mud, grass, verges and ditches
A vehicle does not need to be mechanically broken down to need a recovery truck. Wet grass, soft ground, a muddy field, a sloping verge or a ditch can leave a perfectly running car, van or 4x4 unable to move without digging itself deeper.
Lifesaver Vehicle Recovery assesses the vehicle position, access route, weight, ground condition and safe pulling direction before dispatch. Where suitable, we use the recovery truck and winch-assisted techniques to bring the vehicle back onto firm ground.
Situations we can assess
- Car stuck in mud or deep ruts
- Vehicle stuck on wet grass or a soft verge
- Van stuck on a field entrance or unmade track
- 4x4 or SUV bogged down on soft ground
- Vehicle partly in a roadside ditch
- Vehicle that has slipped off firm ground onto a bank or shoulder
- Low-grip winter or snow situations where a safe winch-out is appropriate
Stop spinning the wheels
If the tyres are spinning without moving the vehicle, repeated attempts can dig the wheels deeper and turn a simple pull-out into a more difficult extraction. Secure the vehicle, stop trying to force it out and send clear photos of the position and access.
