Whithorn & The Machars: a real 20-mile service coverage zone
This south-west coverage circle reaches across the Machars peninsula, where recovery work is often very different from an urban Glasgow callout. Pickups can be on narrow rural roads, coastal approaches, farm-access lanes or long stretches between villages, so an exact pin and clear vehicle photos matter more than a town name alone.
The A746 and A747 are the practical local spines around Whithorn and the Isle of Whithorn. The A714 carries traffic north through Wigtown toward Newton Stewart, where the A75 becomes the strategic east-west route across Dumfries & Galloway.
For a non-runner in the Machars, we plan the job around road width, turning space and a safe position for the recovery truck. If the vehicle is off the main road or behind a gate, driveway or farm entrance, sending photos before dispatch helps avoid delays.
Base transparency: Lifesaver Vehicle Recovery is based in Glasgow. This page describes a genuine service coverage area and does not claim a separate office, depot or staffed base in Whithorn & The Machars.
